Hentsch Man AW12...

So, if you have read this blog before you will know that I am a big fan of the Hentsch Man brand and did a nice little interview with Alexia Hentsch a couple of months back…well a couple of weeks ago I popped down to the Hentsch Man studio to have a look at the new AW12 collection, and I’m pleased to report its bloody brilliant.

Now, I always prefer Autumn/Winter collections as there is so much more opportunity for creativity through the use of layering. One of the main things that I enjoyed about the collection was the fabrics choices: flannels, herringbones, checked cottons, denim, tweed, and jersey fabrics, that were all styled together in a creative way as you will see from the photos below!

The Bespoke Gentleman’s Top Picks - Grey pleated  trousers, Grey speckled jacket, 4-button double-breasted jacket, burgundy sweater, all the flannel shirting and a fantastic jersey blazer that would probably stand out as my favourite piece of the collection, sublime!  Now I’m not going to blether on too much about it, I’m going to let the lookbook photos do the talking, Enjoy!
On other Hentsch Man news, the day that I turned up at the Hentsch Man studio, they had just finished shooting Tom Aitken’s and his team for his new restaurant at 43 Elystan Street, with which Hentsch Man were chosen to design all the staff uniforms, which is pretty damn cool…So if you want to eat some great food and look at some fine clothing then head down to Tom’s restaurant.
Finally, I would like to thank Alexia, Camilla and Lea for showing me through the collection, your all such lovely ladies…I had a great time!

The Bespoke Gentleman visits, Trunk Clothiers...

Firstly, I want to start off this post with an apology for such a long gap in-between posts on this ‘The Bespoke Gentleman’ blog.  I have recently relocated from Manchester to London and therefore have been rather busy with all the logistics that comes with that.  Anyway, I’m back and I have some exciting content coming up…

So, my first post since my relocation is a feature on one of the coolest independent retailers I have come across, and this retailers name is TRUNK!  I first heard about this store a little while back through an Interview with the owner of the store which was featured in GQ magazine last year, so I thought it was definitely worth checking out for myself.
Daniel Kallmen - sitting on a bench at the front of TRUNK

The store itself is located on Chiltern Street a little street tucked away in London’s Marylebone and was founded in Autumn 2010 by Mats Klingberg, a Swede who has brought some great and unknown brand’s to this store.  On entrance I was greeted by Daniel Kallmen (another Swede) who was more than happy to show me around and answer my many questions about TRUNK and the clothes that sit within it.
As you can see from the pictures below, this store has a sort of home like quality to it, in a way that is relaxing and welcoming.   I was instantly drawn to the blazers that are present within TRUNK, and then found out from Daniel that they happened to be made by Boglioli (which happens to be one of the brands that sits at the top of my sartorial wish list) who offer classic Italian tailoring in a wide range of beautiful fabrics.

The store has two levels the ground floor which offers casual tailoring, trousers, made-to-measure shirting, accessories and knitwear.  Downstairs offers a more relaxed and refined collection of brand’s ranging from Hartford, Sunspel, J Crew and Woolrich.  One of the brand’s that I hadn’t heard of was a German underwear brand called ‘Schiesser’ offering over 135 years experience of making underwear built on innovation, naturalness, quality and of course tradition.   It’s these sorts of brands within TRUNK that makes it such an exciting destination to shop, that coupled with staff such as Daniel who show a true passion, excitement and knowledge for not just TRUNK but the brands that also sit within the store.
Ah so my favourite brand you ask…well due to my major passion being tailoring I would have to say Boglioli, the blazers were bloody fantastic!  Finally, I would like to thank Daniel for his time, and if you would like to find out more information about TRUNK then visit the website at: www.trunkclothiers.com
