120 years of brilliantly British made socks by Corgi…

By now most readers of this blog should know that I appreciate a good pair of quality socks.  So today I’m featuring the brand Corgi Hosiery a brand that has been producing the highest quality socks and knitwear since 1892 and what’s more they produce these socks in my home country…Wales!

Corgi is a brand that fits perfectly on this blog as they have an uncompromising commitment to quality and craftsmanship.  In a time when small items such as socks are being produced in the likes of China and Turkey, Corgi are still living by the same old rules by only using the best yarns and manufacturing techniques which have been handed down from generation to generation to maintain that unparalleled  quality of sock.

All Corgi’s sock designs are produced in-house in Carmarthenshire by a small but perfectly formed design team and are then made by using a set of highly skilled workers who are using the same techniques that have been used in the factory for over 100 years.

This year is a rather special year for Corgi Hosiery as for the month of September Corgi is celebrating its 120th Birthday…some feat indeed!  This truly does show that when a brand stick to what they know best and produce socks with an unmatched and dedicated level of efficiency, there is little need to change…and that is why Gentlemen of all ages can and will keep wearing Corgi socks!

Below are some images of the Corgi Hosiery factory past and present to show you things have changed and also a couple of my favourite socks from the current collection.
