About eight
months ago I featured the menswear brand S.E.H
Kelly on this blog with a nice little interview with Paul, one half of the creative force! Over those eight months that
have swiftly past by I have kept a keen interest with everything that has been
going on with the brand, and it seems everything is going from strength to
strength.
I recently
caught wind that the brand had opened a workshop for gentlemen to look and try
on the S.E.H Kelly garments; I think
this is a great idea for combating the shortfalls of the online store with
regard to not being able to try a garment on. Anyway, after a few weeks of calendar
clashes I finally paid the brand a visit at their new workshop located in a row
of gated workshops just behind Shoreditch
High Street near Calvert Avenue. To give you a little insight into what the
workshop looks like, here is a selection of photos I took.
If there is one
thing this brand do brilliantly it’s selecting and using the finest fabrics…and
when I say finest I don’t necessarily mean the most ridiculously priced fabrics,
I just mean simple fabrics such as cottons and wools, but they possess such a
distinct grain and texture that I feel is kind of unmatched in the menswear market.
Speaking as a man I really think us guys appreciate and respond to a garment
that has simply been made well, used the finest fabrics, is subtle but has brilliant little details –
and this is my opinion is the sort of garments that S.E.H Kelly are producing….ohh and did I mention timeless!
Once the
workshop had been visited it was off to do another thing that men do well, have
a beer in the pub and continue our musings on menswear…
If you’re in the
area you should definitely check the workshop out, there friendly folk at S.E.H Kelly, for more details visit: www.sehkelly.com
